PRESS RELEASE
INDIGENOMICS PARTNERS WITH FULBRIGHT CANADA
COAST SALISH TERRITORY (Vancouver, BC) February 22, 2023
The Global Centre of Indigenomics is pleased to announce a formal partnership with Fulbright Canada. The organizations are entering a five-year partnership to facilitate synergies between Fulbright Canada, a not-for-profit organization supporting international academic exchange and research opportunities for exceptional students and scholars and the Global Centre of Indigenomics, an Indigenous economic collective facilitating national and global Indigenous economic and business leadership, knowledge development and creating generational value shaped by an Indigenous worldview.
“We are thrilled to partner with Fulbright Canada and build on this unique opportunity to facilitate opportunities in Indigenous business and economic reconciliation,” says Carol-Anne Hilton, President of the Global Centre of Indigenomics. “This partnership creates opportunities to advance equity and inclusion of Indigenous communities while building and supporting student and academic excellence.”
“Fulbright Canada is dedicated to uplifting and supporting Indigenous students and scholars in their research endeavours,” said Dr. Michael Hawes, CEO of Fulbright Canada. “Also, by intentionally supporting Indigenous leaders, we can further support cross-cultural mutual understanding as we walk the path to reconciliation. This partnership has such potential to have a significant impact, and we could not be more hopeful.”
