Pravin Pillay
Senior Advisor: Technology, Innovation, and Strategy Pravin Pillay is the co-founder and Managing Director of Humanitas Smart Planet Systems – a venture capital firm investing in climate tech and social technology of SME’s. He is an impact investor, and mentor at Spring Activator – an impact venture incubator. Pravin maintains a professional contemporary art studio that maps the space at the nexus of emerging technology, consciousness, and nature.

With more than 35 years of experience as a social entrepreneur and longtime member of the Social Venture Institute, Pravin focuses on cultivating conscious organizations and growing networks working on progressive interdisciplinary projects across private, public, and not-for-profit sectors that enable the thoughtful and pragmatic application of emerging advanced technologies. Pravin worked to help establish Doctors Without Borders in Canada. He was recruited to be the Director of Special Projects with Youth Service Canada and from there recruited to serve as the Executive Director of the Rediscovery International Foundation.
Pravin holds a B. Arts and Science from McMaster University, a BFA from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, an MBA from McGill University and an MFA from the University of Saskatchewan. Prav has sought to understand the real-world impact of systems-based artworks and collaborated with Human-Computer Interaction engineers to conduct art-science experiments at the intersection of media, artificial intelligence, and robotics.
